First Impression: Shard Mountain

A good sample draws the reader in. It gives you enough details about the setting and plot that you want to read more. Shard Mountain accomplishes those things for me.

After a highway accident involving a military convoy and a prison bus, two prisoners and a prison guard awaken in the distant future. As expected, a lot of things have changed. The world is a much more dangerous and mysterious place. Even though I’m not in love with any of the three characters, I want to see what’s in store for them. I also want to learn more about the crash and what happened to the world while they slept. Hopefully, I will find out when I read the rest of this book.
