First Impression: Firefly Island

I finished reading the sample for Firefly Island by Daniel Arenson. I had a hard time putting my first impressions into words.

The opening wasn’t what I was expecting. It helped to draw me in while explaining some of Aeolia’s back story.  You then meet Roen and learn a bit about him. Both parts of the sample are well written. The setting is different and intriguing. The writing style is descriptive yet it flows and doesn’t weigh the story down.

The sample will pique the interest of most fantasy lovers. I liked what I read but I don’t know when I’ll get around to reading and reviewing this book.
