It’s like something out of a dystopian science fiction novel. It makes me wonder when, where, and how did things go wrong.
I think Neil deGrasse Tyson, a famous astrophysicist, has it right when he talks about how exploration fires up the imagination. It’s something we need not only as a nation but as individuals. Exploration is one of those crucial elements that acts as a fuel and a catylst for change. People strive and reach for goals they thought were beyond their grasp. New technology and industries are developed. As we explore the unknown, it instills a sense of pride and changes the way we see the world.
The fact that this is missing and a lot of people don’t even realize it is the scary part.
I’m not saying you need to go climb a mountain or explore the jungles of South America. You don’t have to be an astronaut or a world traveller to explore. Sometimes just taking a different path home can make all the difference in the world. You might see or learn something that inspires you.
